Bitcoin Japan wins exclusive rights to bring UBTECH humanoids into Japan

Bitcoin Japan takes six UBTECH humanoid and service robots to Japanese factories in a 36-month exclusive deal over sales, services and data.

UBTECH Robotics has locked in an exclusive route into Japan. Bitcoin Japan Corporation said on October 19 that it signed an exclusive distribution agreement on October 16 with UBTECH ROBOTICS LIMITED, covering six humanoid and service robot models — including the Walker S2 industrial humanoid.

The terms give Bitcoin Japan the only key to the door: UBTECH has undertaken that neither it nor its parent and group companies will appoint another distributor for the designated products in Japan, and that supply into the country will flow only through Bitcoin Japan. The agreement covers the robot products plus associated deployment services and data rights, with the initial commercial push aimed at manufacturing and logistics sites across Japan.

The deal advances the Physical AI business Bitcoin Japan commenced on October 1. The company sketched a three-pillar revenue model — robot sales, robot-as-a-service, and data — with a 36-month exclusivity period that starts at first product certification and day-one Japan inquiries routed to Bitcoin Japan. All of it remains conditional on product readiness, certification, customer demand, and funding.

The structure is the interesting part. Rather than moving hardware through a conventional dealer network, the agreement bundles services and data rights — a sign that UBTECH’s Japan push is built around operating robots inside factories, not just shipping boxes. For Japanese manufacturers facing chronic labor shortages, the question is no longer whether humanoids arrive, but who runs them.
