Sichuan humanoid maker closes 100M+ yuan Pre-A backed by three tiers of state capital

Chengdu's Sichuan Embodied Tech has province-, city- and county-level state funds in one round — and its next round is already open.

Sichuan Embodied Tech, a Chengdu-based humanoid robot company, has closed a Pre-A financing round of more than 100 million yuan, according to a disclosure by the Chengdu Bureau of Economy and Information Technology. The investor list reads like a map of Sichuan's state capital system: the Chengdu Future Industry Angel Fund, the Deyang Toukong Group, the Kaizhou New City industry fund and the Zhongjiang High-tech Zone industry fund, with additional project support from the Sichuan pilot-line R&D company — province, city and county capital lined up behind one deal.

The company has already opened its next round, signaling it expects the capital momentum to continue. The structure is becoming a pattern in China's humanoid race: local governments coordinating investment vehicles across administrative levels to keep a regional champion funded.

Founded in September 2024 by a team spun out of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China's robotics research center, Sichuan Embodied Tech positions itself as the landmark humanoid ‘host factory’ of western China. Its first product, the full-size humanoid Tianxingzhe 1, went from blueprints to a working robot in 69 days, stands about 165 cm tall and is aimed at industrial inspection, emergency response, cultural tourism and education scenarios. The company is also developing an emotion-interaction humanoid, the EMO1, under CEO Feng Zhenyu, who has argued that emotional companionship is the fastest plausible path to humanoid commercialization.

The round lands as China's humanoid funding landscape splits in two: headline mega-rounds for a few champions while mid-tier projects tighten. Sichuan's answer is coordinated state capital — and this deal shows how a non-coastal cluster intends to keep pace.
