Global shipments hit ~25,000 units in the first half, up 432% year on year — with China accounting for nearly 78% of the total.

Global humanoid robot shipments approached 25,000 units in the first half of 2026, up 432.1% year on year, according to IDC data released October 2. China's AgiBot ranked first worldwide, shipping more than 8,600 units — about 35% of the global total.

China dominated the market: more than 19,000 units shipped in H1, roughly 77.9% of the global total, with AgiBot holding over 45% of the domestic market.

The figures mark the industry's shift from technology validation to commercial deployment, IDC said, with competition moving from hardware specs toward embodied-AI capabilities — environmental understanding, task planning, manipulation, and continuous learning.

AgiBot has branded 2026 its year of deployment at scale. In September it deployed more than 300 robots at Chimelong Spaceship Park in Hengqin across entertainment, retail, and hospitality roles, and placed 100 AGIBOT X2 units in ASD retail stores; its 20,000th robot rolled off the production line that same month.

IDC expects global humanoid shipments to exceed 750,000 units by 2030, with industrial, commercial-service, and consumer markets as the main drivers.
