Siemens and TD SYNNEX team up to push physical AI onto factory floors worldwide

A new global distribution partnership pairs Siemens' industrial technology with TD SYNNEX's IT partner network spanning more than 100 countries, aiming to accelerate IT-OT convergence as AI moves into physical production.
Siemens and TD SYNNEX announced on October 5 a global distribution partnership aimed at accelerating the convergence of information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) and expanding the adoption of physical AI. Under the agreement, TD SYNNEX's global distribution network and IT partner ecosystem — which the companies say spans more than 100 countries — will carry Siemens' industrial technology to a wider base of enterprises and small and medium-sized businesses.
The partnership covers industrial automation, software and AI, cybersecurity, intelligent infrastructure, and electrification. Siemens frames the alliance as more than a distribution deal: the idea is to connect the industrial and IT worlds at scale, giving channel partners — from hyperscalers and independent software vendors to systems integrators and managed service providers — a platform to bundle and deliver Siemens technologies. “With the incredible pace of change driven by AI, bringing IT and OT closer together has never been more important,” said Alastair Borissow, Siemens' head of global distribution sales.
The physical-AI angle is the pitch. As AI moves out of the data center and into plants, warehouses, and infrastructure, the companies say demand for connected, software-defined industrial systems is reshaping how factories buy technology. Dion Smith, head of Siemens' Global Partner Ecosystem, said the partnership aims to create new routes to market and reach new customers, adding that together the companies see an opportunity to “unlock a trillion-dollar market” and make secure industrial digitalization “more accessible, scalable and impactful worldwide.”
Two caveats worth keeping separate from the announcement itself. First, the companies disclosed no financial terms and no timeline, so the commercial scale of the partnership cannot be assessed from today's announcement; the “trillion-dollar market” figure is a company projection, not an independent forecast. Second, this is a distribution framework — a channel partnership — not a product launch or an acquisition: whether it translates into actual physical-AI deployments will depend on what channel partners and customers build on top of it.
