Musk: Optimus and Cybercab will be the vast majority of Tesla's value

In a Saturday-night reply on X, Musk said super intelligence, robots, solar and space are the only things that scale to 'K2 and beyond'.
Elon Musk said Saturday that Optimus and Cybercab 'will be the vast majority of Tesla's value.' Writing on X at 10:01 PM PT in reply to Teslaconomics, which had argued that focusing only on the new Roadster's sales and margins misses the bigger picture, Musk added: 'The only things that will scale to incredible size (K2 and beyond) economically are super intelligence, robots, solar power and mass to space.'
'And, of course, if you have the first two, the rest will follow,' he continued, appearing to refer to super intelligence and robots. He closed with a nod to the Roadster: 'But Roadster is super cool, so we’re doing it anyway.'
The comments land days before Tesla's October 21 earnings call, where investors are expected to press on the two projects Musk named. Among the most-voted questions on Tesla's investor list: how the company plans to expand its Cybercab fleet beyond Austin, and what each Optimus robot costs to manufacture.
There is also a direct technology link between the Roadster and Tesla's robotics work. Vehicle engineering chief Lars Moravy recently explained that the Roadster's rear wing uses leg actuators developed for Optimus, saying nobody in the world is better at making actuators than Tesla. Moravy also revealed that four or five Roadster prototypes exist, with a larger build planned for early next year while development of the base model continues.
Musk offered no figures to support his valuation claim. Independent reporting has put Optimus output at hundreds of units per week in August, with dexterous hands, AI generalization, thermal management and battery supply chain remaining bottlenecks on the path to volume production.
