Realbotix opens reservations for Echo, its $11,950-and-up companion humanoid line

Realbotix is taking $199 reservations for Echo, a companion humanoid line starting at $11,950, with first deliveries set for late 2027.

Realbotix has opened reservations for Echo, its new flagship humanoid line built for companionship, education and wellness. The Las Vegas company is selling direct to consumers through a new product site, with two models on offer. The Echo Tabletop costs $11,950, stands about 32 inches tall, weighs roughly 25 pounds and moves on 17 degrees of freedom. The Echo Full Body costs $59,950, weighs about 88 pounds, moves on 39 degrees of freedom and stands 72 inches in its female version and 77 inches in its male version. A $199 deposit secures priority delivery in the first production run.

That first run is small, and the wait is long. Realbotix plans to build only 225 Tabletop units and 25 Full Body units for delivery in the second half of 2027, nearly a year after reservations open. Buyers choose from four characters, Aria, Mila, Dave and Amar, each with its own personality, voice and interaction style. The company says the robots use its silicone-based synthetic skin and expressive faces for lifelike interaction, a description that is the company's own and has not been independently tested in this announcement.

The robots are designed to talk, and the talking is where the ongoing cost sits. Echo supports more than 100 languages and answers in the language spoken to it, with native integration for ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini as stated by the company. Running and managing an Echo requires a monthly subscription to the Realbotix Robot Configuration App, starting at $19.99, with tiers that bundle different AI platforms and features. In 2027, buyers will also be able to pair their robot with an online digital twin carrying the same character, voice and encrypted memories, so conversations can continue on a phone or computer away from the physical robot.

An optional vision upgrade, called Vinci, is aimed at buyers who want the robot to see as well as listen. Realbotix says Vinci processes conversations and visual information on the device itself, with sub-second latency, and can recognize faces, read emotional cues, track gaze and maintain spatial and temporal awareness. The company also says conversation histories, saved memories and face templates stay on the robot or the paired device and are not uploaded, shared or used for advertising, analytics or model training, though content sent to cloud AI, speech or avatar services passes to those providers as needed.

Echo is a bet that companion robots are ready to be sold as products rather than shown as demos, but the announcement itself sets the limits of that bet. The first run totals 250 robots, the delivery date is a company target rather than a shipped product, and the headline prices exclude the monthly subscription the robots require. What to watch is whether a company better known for realistic social robots can convert reservations into delivered, working units at this price, and whether buyers accept a companion robot that keeps charging every month after the purchase.
