FFR completes its acquisition of Faraday Future's robotics business

FFR has closed its purchase of Faraday Future's robotics arm and guided to about 2,000 robot shipments in 2026.

FF EAI Robotics Ecosystem has closed its purchase of Faraday Future's robotics business, creating a standalone Nasdaq-listed humanoid and bionic robotics company. The transaction was finalized on October 23, 2026, and announced on October 26. FFR will operate the robotics business and keep trading under the ticker FFR, while Faraday Future continues to trade under the ticker FFAI. The deal was priced at a $200M formula-based value under definitive agreements the two companies signed on October 12.

The leadership reflects how intertwined the two companies remain. YT Jia becomes chief executive of FFR while continuing as chief executive of Faraday Future, and Jerry Wang becomes FFR's executive chairman while continuing as Faraday Future's global executive chairman. Chen Shi joins as lead independent director. Faraday Future says it will now upgrade into a robotaxi and intelligent-cabin shared mobility operator and a Physical AI investment holding company, leaving the robotics business to FFR's dedicated public platform.

The numbers attached to the announcement are ambitious, and they are company guidance rather than audited results. FFR expects October 2026 robot sales and shipments to exceed 300 units, a monthly record that would lift cumulative shipments above 1,100, while maintaining a positive unit gross margin. For the first time, it also issued full-year 2026 guidance: approximately 2,000 robot sales and shipments for the year, again at a positive gross margin. The guidance covers sales and shipments combined, as disclosed, and FFR's own filings caution that the standalone guidance may not be achieved.

The acquisition caps a fast sequence. FFR began trading on Nasdaq on September 30 after the robotics business was injected at a roughly $200M valuation, then unveiled the FF Nova humanoid line on October 14, with the full-size Nova priced at $2,490 and the smaller Nova Mini at $299 for developers and classrooms. FFR describes its platform as a four-part full-stack system spanning the robot brain and developer platform, devices, industry solutions and a data factory, plus RoboShare, its robot-sharing and services platform. Its stated philosophy is one brain driving many robot forms and capabilities.

What to watch now is execution against the new guidance. Reaching 2,000 shipments for the year would require the fourth quarter to run well above the pace implied by the 1,100 cumulative units to date, and FFR's earlier plan called for a US robotics factory to open before year-end. The October record, if it holds, would be the first test of whether the Nova line and the company's commercial channels can convert a corporate restructuring into a manufacturing ramp rather than a listing event.
