China's first national humanoid standards take shape: drafters named, enforcement set for April 2027

China approves six GB/T humanoid standards (SAMR No. 43 of 2026), effective April 2027; Daimon, UBTECH, Unitree and Xiaomi drafted them.

China's market regulator has approved the country's first batch of six national standards for humanoid robots, issued under Announcement No. 43 of 2026. All six are recommended national standards set to take effect on April 1, 2027, establishing a common technical baseline as the industry moves from validation toward scaled deployment.

The six standards cover general technical requirements, environmental perception (GB/T 48317.2-2026), decision-making and planning, motion control, task operation, and a simulation testing platform specification - a closed loop from how a robot perceives the world to how its capabilities are verified.

Daimon Robotics says it was the only vision-tactile embodied-intelligence company among the drafting units for the environmental perception standard, working alongside Unitree, UBTECH, Xiaomi Robotics and Pujiang National Laboratory. Its contributions covered vision-tactile sensors, tactile-anchored world models and real-world physical interaction data collection. UBTECH participated as a leading drafter on the motion-control and decision-planning standards, which target whole-body coordination, operational reliability and task understanding.

Beyond the newly released batch, Daimon says two further national standards it helped draft - on robot teleoperation requirements and humanoid robot datasets - have opened for public comment, while a guiding document on intelligence classification for embodied AI has reached the approval stage.
