CES 2027 adds a hall for the parts that build robots

CES 2027 gains a dedicated advanced-manufacturing and robotic-automation zone in South Hall 3, as dexterous hands become the show's robot theme.
CES 2027 now has a dedicated address for the supply side of robotics. The Consumer Technology Association is setting up an advanced manufacturing and robotic automation area in South Hall 3 of the Las Vegas Convention Center, a space for the components and production technology that go into robots. North Hall remains where finished robots show off what they can do; the new South Hall floor is where the industry behind them gets its own stage.
The theme running through that floor is dexterity. At its Seoul preview on October 13, CTA flagged precise hand movement, touch sensing and object handling as the key competitive factor for robots at the show. Korea's Rainbow Robotics, China's AgiBot and Salem's Agility Robotics were named among the companies expected to demonstrate that kind of technology, with tactile and pressure sensors that adjust grip strength much as a human hand does. After years in which humanoid demos were judged on walking and waving, the 2027 test is whether a robot hand can pick something up without dropping or crushing it.
The rest of the updated floor map fills in around that robot story. A new Health Hub presented by Abbott sits at the center of the health floor at the Venetian, with its own Health Stage. CES Foundry, the AI and quantum computing hub that debuted at CES 2026, returns to Fontainebleau Las Vegas for three days instead of two, January 6-8, with a separate area for companies building agentic AI. And one very big name will be missing: Sony and its affiliates will not exhibit at CES 2027, ending a run that dates to the first show in 1967, as the company focuses on entertainment, intellectual property and technology for creators.
Three dates matter before January. On November 9, CTA reveals the CES Innovation Awards 2027 honorees, in a year that adds an Art Tech category developed with Christie's. November 30 is the last day for the $149 Standard Pass, which rises to $349 from December 1. January 4 brings CES Unveiled Las Vegas, the media preview night, when the Innovation Awards embargo lifts; the show floor opens January 6, alongside the first day of keynotes.
The signal for robotics watchers is a shift from spectacle to supply chain. A hall for automation components plus a dexterity theme means CES 2027 will reward the unglamorous parts of the industry alongside the humanoid headliners: actuators, sensors, grippers and the factories that make them. The November 9 honoree list is the first place to check which hands and components CTA's judges consider ready for prime time.
